Fresh new season



Ahh the change of seasons is upon us once again. Mabon (fall) starts 9/22/08. The weather here has been cool. Some of the trees have already started changing colors. I have a new love for Mabon. Not just the colors of the season but it's change. Change is always good. Sometimes it's hard to let change occur. But I have found it's best to accept change and embrace it with open arms.

The air is cooler and that ushers in of course warmer clothing and the desire to cuddle with your love under the covers.

I am an avid tea drinker and Mabon brings out the tea kettle and my ever growing selection of teas to try. I usually fix a carafe of tea everyday and really enjoy the flavors and how the warmth of my brew soothes my soul.

So I raise my tea cup to Mabon and all it's wonderful changes.

Serati's Flame

I just finished reading Serati's Flame by T.J. Michaels. If you like your books with bite and spice, then this novel is just the ticket for you.

From the first page to the last page, Michaels characters deliver action and adventure and of course hot, searing passion. What can I say I like what I like and that means action, magick, adventure and sex in my books.

Alaan Serati is the main male character of this book. Michaels vivid and devastating description of Serati is one that gets the libido racing. Serati is a man who is passionate about everything, his life, his work and his love for Tameth.

Tameth the main female character is strong, talented and equally passionate. It takes Tameth awhile to really believe that Alaan is truly in love with her and not the ghost/memory of his former love.

Tameth and Alaan's first intimate encounter is anything but delicate, but passions are ignited and you the reader gets to enjoy all that these characters have to offer.

I am definately hooked on Michaels, I am going to have to see what other books of hers I can find.

Muse where for art thou?

I was reading the blog of another writer and she happen to mention her muse, you know her inspiration for writing. Everyone has a muse of sorts. It's that certain something that inspires you to do what you do. Your creativity is inspired and that inspiration is contributed to a Muse, your Muse.

Well I am a freelance writer, sort of. I really enjoy writing. But about a year ago my muse and I parted ways. It wasn't a nasty parting, it was more of a use it or loose it sort of parting. While I enjoy writing, I had began to feel the drag of doing it. I had deadlines to meet, while also fulfiling other obligations in my life, like being a mom, chauffeur, chef and many other things.

I would get around to writing when I thought about it, and then it wasn't always my best work. So after feeling the drag of writing, my Muse just left. Packed her bags and hit the proverbial road. I have no doubt that she will return. Matter of fact my muse poked her head in the door this summer. She inspired a short story to come about. My first attempt to really write in about 14months.

I have a feeling my muse will be returning shortly, I am starting to have thoughts of characters and stories that I can put them into. I will say that my muse has been missed and I will certainly welcome her with open arms when she returns.

I've Learned






Maya Angelou was interviewed on her birthday and was asked what she thought of growing older.

And, there on television, she said it was 'exciting.' Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day...like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist first.

The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!
