WOW I just finished reading the latest novel by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Acheron is the latest in her Dark Hunter series of books. Kenyon's book have shapeshifters, vamps, magick and of course steamy romance.
Acheron is the leader and commander of the Dark-Hunters. Dark-Hunters are the ones who fight the Daimons and kill them so that they don't feed on us weak humans.
This book is a little over 700 pages. The first half of the book will take you through the paces as Kenyon gives not a glimpse but full immersion to the reader of Acheron's life before he fully came into his powers.
Being a royal means nothing to Acheron's mortal "parents". Every known torture, humiliation and tragedy that can befall a person hits Acheron several times over. Just when you think nothing else can happen to the man...WHAM the Fates (who happen to be his step-sisters) deals him another blow.
I won't spoil the ending, but I will say that if anything the book does send one clear cut message...Love is always worth fighting for.
