I was reading the blog of another writer and she happen to mention her muse, you know her inspiration for writing. Everyone has a muse of sorts. It's that certain something that inspires you to do what you do. Your creativity is inspired and that inspiration is contributed to a Muse, your Muse.
Well I am a freelance writer, sort of. I really enjoy writing. But about a year ago my muse and I parted ways. It wasn't a nasty parting, it was more of a use it or loose it sort of parting. While I enjoy writing, I had began to feel the drag of doing it. I had deadlines to meet, while also fulfiling other obligations in my life, like being a mom, chauffeur, chef and many other things.
I would get around to writing when I thought about it, and then it wasn't always my best work. So after feeling the drag of writing, my Muse just left. Packed her bags and hit the proverbial road. I have no doubt that she will return. Matter of fact my muse poked her head in the door this summer. She inspired a short story to come about. My first attempt to really write in about 14months.
I have a feeling my muse will be returning shortly, I am starting to have thoughts of characters and stories that I can put them into. I will say that my muse has been missed and I will certainly welcome her with open arms when she returns.
